Frugal Parenting

Picture
I'm quite convinced that they should add the "Stay-at-Home Mom" (or Dad!) to the list of World Super Heroes. While most people think that staying at home is leisurely and enjoyable, the truth is that it comes with a lot of responsibility, stress, and often times exhaustion. In order for our family to reap financial benefits from me staying home with Lucas, I've had to come up with (or borrow!) ways to cut costs without sacrificing the care that we want to provide for him.

Even with my super busy schedule (and if you think I'm kidding, you should see my calendar!), I've found a few ways to save money, time, and stress. Please remember that my tips and tricks are from experience, but they may or may not work for you. Everything is worth a try, and if you only save a few cents, they'll add up fast!

DIY - Do It Yourself!

Buying things at the store that are pre-mixed, made, baked, assembled, tossed, turned, and glued can get very expensive. Stores charge a premium for many services that you can easily do around your own home, no matter where you live.

Now, I'm not one to spend every minute of every day cooking, cleaning, and doing DIY projects, but sometimes slowing down and doing something yourself can make a little effort go a long way.
