Plumy Nectarine Sauce

Yields about 24 to 28 one-ounce servings

Groceries You'll Need:
1. Six Black Plums
2. Six Nectarines

From Around the House:
1. 13 x 9-inch glass baking pan
2. Sharp Knife
3. Strainer
4. Tongs
5. Slotted Spoon
6. Large Bowl

Cooking Instructions:
1. Fill glass baking dish with 1/2 inch of water
2. Preheat oven to 400 degrees
3. Wash all of the fruit VERY well
4. Cut a small bit off of each piece of fruit (this will allow it to sit flat)
5. Cut a deep X (down to the pit) all the way around each piece of fruit
6. Place in pan, trimmed-side down
7. Bake for 30 minutes, or until fruit falls off pit
8. Allow to cool until fruit is warm, but not hot


Preparation Instructions:
1. Use tongs to separate and remove pits from fruit
2. Using a slotted spoon, remove large pieces 
3. Strain left-over fruit and juice over a large bowl
4. Combine large and small fruit pieces 
5. Puree fruit to desired consistency
6. Transfer fruit puree to ice cube trays
7. Pour juice into separate ice cube trays (makes yummy frozen treat!)
